With COVID-19 sweeping the entire world, we are facing an unprecedented situation that the world has never witnessed. While there are concerns regarding adequate blood supply during these trying times, we are also looking at a rapid increase of the serum-based antibody testing and the use/research around convalescent plasma, thereby intensifying the need for blood chain integrity more than ever.

This paper looks into this critical need for maintaining the cold chain of blood and blood components in clinical and research environments.
