Through these short conversations, we try to understand what our customers think about us. Today we are going to China to visit the Guangzhou Blood Center, a blood establishment in the Guangdong Province. They are using our MBF products to quickly freeze plasma. The Chief of the Composition Department, He Bo, and the Deputy Chief of the same department were happy to answer some our questions about their experience with our products.

1. Could you explain what your activity consists of?

Our institution is mainly responsible for the collection and supply of blood in the city. The department I oversee is the Department of Component Blood Supply, which is mainly responsible for 1. Separation and preparation of blood components; 2. The storage, preservation, delivery and scrapping of blood and blood components.

2. In what circumstances do you need to use of cold storage or blood preservation solutions in your work?

Our work is reliant on the cold storage solutions or refrigerators. After a bag of blood is collected and sent to our department, it requires refrigeration. The blood to be tested needs to be stored at a low temperature. Qualified blood and blood components are stored in designated refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature for preservation.

3. Which products from B medical Systems have you used? What are they mainly used for?

Our Component Department currently uses B Medical Systems’ flat-plate quick-freezer, and the blood supply department has also used blood transport boxes before. The flat-plate quick-freezer (MBF model) is mainly used for the rapid freezing of fresh frozen plasma and cryoprecipitate clotting factors.

4. What characteristics of products did you like the most? Could you please talk about the performance of the devices?

The biggest advantage of the quick freezer is its simple operation and fast freezing time. The B Medical Systems’ flat-plate quick plasma freezer directly acts on the blood product through the cold plate leading to freezing in the shortest time. Generally, it can reduce the center temperature of the bag below -30℃ in about 20 minutes, thus achieving the purpose of rapid freezing in a short time and ensuring the optimal amount of coagulation factors in our blood products, while also guaranteeing their high quality and safe use.

5. How are you using the B Medical Systems products and how do they benefit your institution?

A total of 4 quick freezers were purchased, and the oldest one has been in use for ten years. The equipment runs stably, and the failure rate is extremely low, which brings great convenience to my work. It reduces not just labor costs, but also improves blood quality with fast freezing time. It completes the quick freezing of fresh frozen plasma and cryoprecipitate coagulation factors without compromising high quality yields.

I learned about this product while studying at the institute.

8. How long have you been a B Medical Systems’ customer?

For more than ten years. The oldest quick-freezer was purchased in 2010.

9. Are you satisfied with the equipment?

There are no major problems in the use of the equipment, and overall I am very satisfied.

10. Would you recommend B Medical Systems?

I do communicate with peers about this kind of equipment. Many domestically made brands have also been in the market and in use especially in the recent years, but I still trust and consider the quick-freezer of B Medical Systems a better option at present.
