Temperature regulation is a critical factor in the successful transportation of healthcare products. These products can be particularly sensitive to temperature, so it is essential that those that require it are always kept within the correct temperature range during transport. For a healthcare professional or the end user it is not possible to ensure that the products were prepared and transported under the correct temperature conditions by simply looking at them. This is why strong and respected certifications and labels such as CERTICOLD are needed in the medical cold chain industry: they validate the choice of the consumer and help him (or her) ensure that the chosen product was designed and manufactured to meet all the regulatory requirements.
The CERTICOLD pharma certification
CERTICOLD pharma is a European label used to certify cold chain equipment for health products. This label was created to help health professionals make the correct choice of equipment for the transport and storage of their heat-sensitive products, and it ensures the compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Distribution Practices (GDP) according to European standards.
The CERTICOLD pharma committee is composed of cold chain experts and stakeholders from pharmaceutical laboratories, hospitals, transporters, and equipment manufacturer companies to ensure the success of its mission. The committee exists to promote and support the advancement of temperature-controlled solutions applicable to the health and food industries, and it strives to provide innovative solutions for transportation and storage, as well as ensure the constant quality of the cold chain equipment.
Presently, the label covers two types of equipment: the vehicles of transport of health products and isothermal or refrigerant packaging solutions for health products. Recently, our RCW25 Vaccine Transport Box has been awarded the CERTICOLD pharma label.
The RCW25 Transport Box
Our RCW25 Transport Boxes are highly reliable and designed for the safe storage and transport of all types of vaccine. These boxes have a rotomoulded body, which is extremely robust, shock resistant, and rust-free and have a capacity of 20L. They use passive cooling technology using either different phase change materials (PCM), ice packs or even dry ice, making them able to reliably provide storage temperatures ranging between -80°C and +8°C. The RCW25s also provide the highest possible hold over time, due to the eco-friendly PU foam insulation.
Moreover, these sturdy boxes have been designed for tropical temperatures up to +43°C, and their extended autonomy allows them to provide the safest possible solution for a reliable transport of vaccines, medicines and samples.
With the commitment to saving lives through reliable and innovative technology, we will be seeking to obtain the CERTICOLD certification for its other cold chain products as well in the future.
