Through these brief conversations, we try to understand what our customers think of us. Today we are going to Colombia in a University Hospital. From the transfusion management service, a user in charge of quality control, sample processing, and a nursing assistant in charge of dispatching blood units and extra-mural days give us their opinion.

1. Could you explain the activities of your organization?

We are a Colombian University Hospital focused on the comprehensive care of patients and their families. We have a teaching and research model that create great social value for the country.

2. Why do you need cold storage in your activities?

In the pre-transfusion service, we handle red blood cells that must be stored at a temperature between 1°c and 6° C to maintain the vitality of the product. We also handle cryoprecipitates and plasma, which need to be kept at temperatures of -80° C, to extend their shelf life. Temperature control is vital, so we handle temperature control both on site in the refrigerator and via a remote control.

3. Which products did you buy from B Medical Systems? For which purpose?

Refrigerators to store red blood cells, ultra-low temperature freezers and medical freezers for plasma and cryoprecipitates. We have the models: P290, U501, F501, B401 and MP380.

4. What are the features/functionalities that you like the most? Could you please tell us about the performance of the equipment?

The equipment is very user-friendly, as it has a touchscreen and the alarm signals help a lot. They are also easy to operate for storage purposes. Aesthetically they are very nice, and in the ultra-low freezers the frost is not building up.

5. How are you using B Medical Systems products and how do they benefit your institution?

We use the refrigerators for the red blood cell storage, which properly maintain the necessary temperature.

The plasma freezers are used to store cryoprecipitates. We have not faced any problems with the equipment, it is totally reliable.

6. Have you found in B Medical Systems a trustworthy partner?

Yes, we have always received a quick response from the distributor, and the equipment is very reliable.

7. How did you learn about B Medical Systems?

The equipment was acquired by the institution through a purchasing process and we were familiar with both the brand and the equipment when we received it at the service.

8. How long have you been a customer of B Medical Systems?

Since 3 years (2021).

9. Are you satisfied with our equipment?

Yes, as a suggestion we would like to include boxes to organize the plasma in the freezing equipment.

10. Would you recommend BMS?
