Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, has been assisting the Government of Kenya in the area of immunization and health development since 2001 through its vaccine Cold Chain Equipment Optimization Platform (CCEOP).

This paper analyses the implementation of the CCEOP project by B Medical Systems and the performance of the 469 vaccine cold chain devices installed across the country. The project included not only the delivery and installation, but also training of the local technicians, the Ministry of Health, and the end-users.
