Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare company with more than 95 years of innovation and leadership in diabetes care. Headquartered in Denmark, it employs approximately 43,200 people in 80 countries. Michael Møller Ottesen and Kim René Friborg work together in the metrology team of the quality department. As they paid us a visit at our manufacturing site in Hosingen, we grabbed the opportunity to question them about their experience and opinion on our medical equipment and services.
What is the reason of your visit?
Our facilities at Novo Nordisk Denmark count hundreds of refrigeration systems (only as a company), and it is our responsibility to maintain and take good care of them. We came to Luxembourg with the aim to gain a better understanding of the new medical equipment designed by B Medical Systems. The team has granted us no breathing space. Not only have we learned more about the new electronics, but also have we received hands-on training on the settings, installation, and maintenance of the new medical cooling systems. The live demo of the °B Connected remote monitoring solution was the cherry on the cake, as we considered integrating it into our existing devices in future.
Have you found in B Medical Systems a trustworthy partner?
We have been using B Medical Systems’ cooling technology for the last 10 years at least. The company is one of our longest standing supplier. Our department has run compliance tests in house and qualified many of its blood bank refrigerators and laboratory freezers. 53 of 60 units are now in full operation, with the oldest one – installed in 2006 – still running perfectly. B Medical Systems’ technology has proven to be reliable and designed for longevity. We are pleased and are now in the process of adopting its new frost-free laboratory freezers.
What is the most important feature in a laboratory freezer in your opinion?
The answer is very simple. Laboratory freezers are intended to safely store temperature-sensitive materials, so we expect our solutions to maintain the right storage temperature at all times. Our engineers rely on -41°C freezers to keep cold all kinds of chemical reference materials used and produced by Novo Nordisk. Basically, reference materials are frozen pharmaceutical products that help to assess the purity and strength of drugs before being released in the market. Over the years, B Medical Systems’ cooling solutions have fulfilled our expectations, and excelled in terms of temperature stability and uniformity.
Are you now returning home satisfied?
We have acquired a lot of new knowledge that we can immediately apply in our daily operations. Once again, B Medical Systems proved that we can count on its team. We have been in contact with its staff several times over the years, and never been left alone. The team cares about its customers and has a solution-oriented mindset. Whenever a problem arose, it never stayed a big issue for too long – even when it comes to tricky technical issues.
Would you recommend B Medical Systems to anyone?
Certainly. Actually, we have already done it.
